Beihang University (BUAA) was founded in 1952 with the merger of the aerospace departments from eight top Chinese universities. Today it is one of the nation’s foremost research universities supported by all national education initiatives for building first-class universities – Project 211, Project 985, Project 2011 and Double World-Class Project.
Beihang has an enrollment of more than 30,725 students, attending 33 schools in two campuses in Beijing and many going on exchange in partner universities across Europe, Asia, the Americas and Oceania. Among the first Chinese universities to offer postgraduate programs in English for international students, Beihang annually attracts over 2,000 foreign students from 110 countries.
Beihang host one of the largest international student populations in engineering studies, providing 7 undergraduate programs offered in English. Currently, all courses at mater and Ph. D levels are available in English.
The faculty totals over 2,000 members, whose research and teaching encompasses sciences, engineering, economics, management, humanities, law, philosophy, education, medicine and art. A strong body of 23 accomplished professors have been inducted as members of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering.

Beihang also has strong links with the industrial sector, which contributes to more than 50 percent of the University’s research projects.Beihang has also grown to be a university of global outreach with visibility in several global consortia, including Top Industrial Managers for Europe (T.I.M.E). The University maintains partnerships over 200 universities, research institutions and companies in over 30 countries. The cooperation covers faculty and student exchanges, joint workshops and publications, joint research endeavors and international educational projects. The Sino-French Engineer School (or, Ecole Centrale de Pekin), established by Beihang and the Groupe des Ecoles Centrales in 2005, has won international recognition for its excellence in international engineering education. Beihang is also home to the U.N. Regional Center for Space Science and Technology Education in Asia and the Pacific (China) established in November 2014..
International student programs at BEIHANG mainly include bachelor degree programs, master degree programs, doctoral degree programs, as well as various non-degree programs as such Chinese language training programs, visiting scholar programs and pre-bachelor programs. BEIHANG is one of the few universities in China which uses English as its primary language of instruction for all international master and doctoral programs, as well as some of its bachelor programs.

Steps to follow after arriving to the country to live in the city (this information will be in the platform). For example: bank account, bikes, transport, and taxes.
Step 1. Registration
After arrival, students shall register at Beihang within the stipulated time with the required documents, including the admission notices, passports, JW201/JW202 Forms, health certificates and four 2-inch photos.
Step 2. Bank Account
To facilitate the daily payment, it is recommended that incoming students create a Chinese bank account after arriving to China.
Degree students should contact Beihang International School in advance in order to require on-campus dormitories.
As for exchange students, please fill in the Application Form for Foreign Student Dormitory (download at http://global.buaa.edu.cn/Study_with_Us/Exchange_Programs.htm) and send it to firstname.lastname@example.org. Because of high demands, only double-occupancy rooms are available.
